Charlie

Picture
He loved animals of all kinds and was very curious. He was a born hunter, and would never be happy indoors when we would bring him in. He could kill several mice in just one morning and would eat ALL of them!  He also liked to get into cars...which unfortunately we think is what he did, and left us. He has been missing now since December 13th, 2012 and we dearly miss him. We will always be awaiting his safe return, and are still in the hopes that he will return to us someday.
Charlie, our Tuxedo kitty, came to us in April 2012 when he was only 5 weeks old. We brought home Callie that same day (not related) and they became the fastest of friends. They were completely inseperable, and had lots of fun chasing (and eating) mice. Charlie's favorite thing to do, however, was hang out in the hay loft and in the goat barn with the goats. It was not unusual at all to find him under a pile of hay IN the goat barn, with goats standing over him. No fear...ever.

Siren

Picture
Sadly, we lost our sweet Siren on February 4, 2019. He is the first goat we have ever lost on our farm, and it has hit us hard.  He was just short of five years old when he suffered a sudden undetermined spinal/neck related injury that he could not recover from, and he will be sorely missed.  Siren was our farm wether, our dear friend, and was so funny!  He was born in Spring 2014 and was just eight weeks old when we brought him home. He was so comical with his constant nibbling on clothes, and his pawing at you with his hoof for attention.  His voice was very soft and sweet, which was quite surprising compared to our loud gals! He had quite the full time job managing the does in the barn and settling squabbles!

He was one of a kind, and the farm will never be the same without him. The sweetest boy. May God bless you Siren. You will be in our hearts forever.

Scout

Picture
Scout was our favorite hen, a speckled sussex, and SUCH a clown.  She was so funny, always chirping and making silly noises as she would follow us around, hounding us non-stop for treats.  She would even come into the house to beg for bananas.  Her name was Knotweed, but we changed it to Scout because that is what she was....always looking for food!  She is featured in two of Valerie's books that will be published in Spring 2018, as she would always photobomb the photo shoots on the farm.  She always made her presence well known.  :-) Sadly, she was killed by a hawk in late March 2018 when she meandered into an unused back pasture alone. We will miss her dearly.  We will never forget her and the sweet friendship she gave to us. She can never be replaced.

Twinkle Flufferton

Picture
Twinkle Flufferton was such a sweet, little delight!  She was half Lion Lop and half Holland Lop and was such a character, loving sitting in laps and playing with Annie. Our daughter carried her everywhere in her purse. So funny!! She passed away in March, 2016. She will be loved and remembered forever in our hearts forever. She and Annie were the best of friends.

Milkweed

Picture
Milkweed was Scout's best friend. They went everywhere together. They ate together, explored together, and were always by each others side. When Scout passed away, Milkweed became a loner and would be at the bottom of the yard searching for bugs by herself. She always looked sad because she lost her best friend. Tragically we lost Milkweed a couple months ago. She will always be remembered. She was such a sweet, chatty hen full of personality and was such a lap-sitter. We miss her lots but we know that she is happy now in Heaven eating bugs with her reunited best friend Scout. We miss you Milkweed and love you so much.
