Testing for various goat related disease is very important on our farm, and we routinely repeat the testing every 24 months. We began testing for CAE, CL and Johne's at the end of 2012, and have since tested in the fall of 2014, 2016 and now in January 2019. All results are consistently negative for the entire herd. We are very careful about bio-security at our farm, and all visitors must have clean shoes or covers that we provide (or both) on to go into the barn and pastures. We also routinely test fecals through our vet, and the results are consistently fantastic, thanks to the use of natural herbs, homeopathy, and Molly's Herbal wormers! Our most recent test was completed in January 2019 and the whole herd passed with flying colors! We do not use conventional wormers, vaccinations, or medication unless absolutely necessary as we find that our herd remains very healthy via more natural means. Our vet works supports our natural approach, and offers conventional interventions when deemed necessary.
All of our does are from incredible genetics and proven dairy production. Our daughter helped name them all, and the names are quite fitting and adorable. These gals will provide our family with lots of rich, high butterfat milk and cream for raw milk, chevre, and possibly even making soap someday! There is a lot to be excited about at Sweet Meadows Farm! All our does are registered with AGS and/or ADGA, and all kids sold will be registerable with ADGA and/or AGS. Click on each doe's name or photo to see additional photos and also detailed information about personality and extended pedigrees.
